Sensory Adjustments
When introducing groups and doing the rules you should ALWAYS ask about sensitivity to flashing lights and loud noises. e.g. "Our games contain flashing lights and loud noises, if that is an issue for anyone please let me know and I can make adjustments to your game."
If someone says yes then there are a few things you can do for each game.
Game Specific Instructions
- Save the City
- Explain that if they find torches in the game they may have a strobing setting so they should be cautious of this.
- If louder noises are an issue there is a low volume version of qlabs on the desktop (Named Save the City 26.11.22 Low Volume) just close the normal version of qlabs and double click this then run Pre-game setup as normal.
- Volatile Laboratories
- Explain that there are flickering lights (corridor flashing lights puzzle) that can be avoided by staying in the room with the two switches and the metal board in. OR you can skip this puzzle completely by typing out the order of coloured buttons: GREEN YELLOW BLUE RED WHITE.
- The strobe light puzzle should also be explained and that you will warn them just before they open the 9513E safe that they can stay in the room with the two switches and metal board in to avoid it. If needed you can also skip this puzzle by turning OFF the fan using the switch underneath the desk prior to their game starting.
- The GAS LEAK alarm should be avoided for people sensitive to loud noises. There is a Low Volume version of qlabs on the desktop, just close out of qlab and double click the one labeled Low Volume on desktop. Run reset game as normal.
